They include a stupid teenager that gets killed.
Children that are used are normally very creepy, they look innocent but you can tell there is something wron with them, such as in the shining or the orphan.
The villain usually is a monster, mutated person, serial killer or alien, depending on where it is set determines whether or not they are human or something else as they have to match the setting.
